Truth Exposed

 The other main beliefs and faiths that people have and how to best deal with their point of view will be discussed. These beliefs will be Christianity, Atheism (& Agnosticism), Hinduism and Judaism to a certain extent. Please check out which ever ones interest or relate to you. Firstly, here is the opening chapter of the Holy, Noble and Glorious Qur'an. 

Surah Al-Fatiha (The Opening):

• In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.  
• All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
• The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
• The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).
• You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).
• Guide us to the Straight Way.
• The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).

Do Islam and Christianity have different origins? 

 No they don't. Together with Judaism, they go back to the prophet and patriarch Abraham alaihisalam and their three prophets are directly descended from his sons, Muhammad (pbuh) from the eldest, Ishmael, and Moses and Jesus from Isaac, may peace be upon them all. Abraham alaihisalam established the settlement which today is the city of Makkah, and built the Ka‘bah towards which all Muslims turn to when they pray.

 Before the coming of the Islam we know today came (i.e. before the Qur'an and Muhammad pbuh) the people that were on the straight path, who rejected idol worship and polytheism were known as Hanifs. The early Jews and Christians were at one time 'Muslims', the Torah and Ingeel (Bible) were books (revelations) from Allah, and their Prophets, Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them) were Prophets chosen by and from Allah, and their followers were true 'Muslims'. Therefore, the original followers of these Prophets and Books were people following the true and straight path of life, and the correct religion.

  However, later on they introduced new methods, i.e. innovations in their religion to such extents that they are no longer Muslims. Any action not advocated by Allah and His Messenger (in religion) are considered as innovations, and Allah and His Prophet curse people who innovate in religion and the followers of innovators. Therefore, Allah ta'ala sent new messengers (i.e. Muhammed pbuh) with the same message (monotheism) to correct the religion people were following and to take them back to the correct path. The Prophet Muhammad pbuh was the restorer of the original, uncorrupted monotheistic faith (Islam) of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and all the other prophets gone by, peace be upon them all. Just as Christians believe that Christianity came to corrects and 'fix' Judaism, Islam which is 'younger' than Christianity, came to do the same, and to correct them both (and all other false religions).

 Religion has been taught to us by Allah, through His Prophets and His Books, and as far as religion is concerned, Allah wants us to follow it strictly without any changes. Allah Almighty curses those who introduce new acts in religion and strictly warns us not to follow innovations. It is only by innovations that people before us went astray, to the extent that they are Kafirs (infidels), and none of their religious acts of innovators and those who follow innovators are accepted by Allah. When people innovate Allah is very angry with them, they are in fact trying to teach Allah of a new religion, and in the Quran Allah says: 

 "Say (unto them, O Muhammad); Would you teach Allah Your Religion? When Allah knows all that is in the heavens and earth."                (Qur'an 49:16)

 "Truth has (now) arrived, and Falsehood perished: for Falsehood is (by its nature) bound to perish."                                                                   (Qur'an 17:81)

 "This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion."                        (Qur'an 5:3)

 "O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam."                                                                                     (Qur'an 3:102)

 "Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance."  (16:125)   

 Today, the 3 (or 4) Abrahamic faiths clearly cover and dominate most of the world. We should come together and seek common terms where we can share what is similer and debate peacefully what is not. In the Holy Qur’an, Allah the Most High enjoins Muslims to issue the following call to Christians and Jews (the People of the Scripture):

 "Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to a common word between us and you: that we shall worship none but God, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside God. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him)."                                                                     (Qur'an 3:64)
